You understand how much immigrants and refugees matter. You see the creativity, skills, and knowledge they offer our community as well as their value just as humans. You also know that this is an incredibly difficult time for our immigrant communities.

Here at FaithAction International, we weather this year of upheaval and uncertainty with reflection on what grounds us, sustains us, and helps us grow. Just as a tree draws strength and life from its roots, our mission is rooted in faith, tradition, and community. We are resolved to stay united for justice and a hope in a flourishing future.

FaithAction International provides direct services to over 3,000 people, connecting families to food, diapers, housing, healthcare, safe space and accompaniment for domestic violence victims, back-to-school backpacks, holiday toys, emergency help to families affected by detention and deportation, and referrals to trusted legal services. We recently added deliveries of necessities and virtual walk-in hours, too.

We combine those direct services with a commitment to long-term change so that there are fewer urgent unmet needs. This work ranges from providing FaithAction ID cards, to building trustworthy and strong communities with immigrants and refugees, to building bridges across faiths and cultures, and to partnering with other organizations so we can be as effective as possible together.

Empowerment is at the heart of this work. It means helping individuals find their voice, restore dignity, and build new opportunities for themselves and their families. And when we invest in that kind of transformation, we don’t just change individual lives. We strengthen the entire community.
